Here we have a free knitting pattern for a really unusual looking cabled headband.
Made from super chunky yarn, it is cosy to wear and the unusual stitch pattern makes it a real eye catcher.
The headband shown in the photo is made from Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Super Chunky Yarn.
You can however use any super chunky yarn that works with 10mm knitting needles.
Cable Headband Free Knitting Pattern
Needles and yarn required:
10mm straight needles and approx 80g super chunky yarn.
Yarn used for headband in photograph:
Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Super Chunky.
Tension Gauge:
In 2cm – 2 stitches and 2 rows, in Patt.
Finished measurements:
Width 13cm, length 45cm.
Pattern:
Cast on 12 stitches.
Work the following 4 row pattern until work reaches desired length (suggested length is 45cm, usually 12 lots of the 4 rows). Cast off in K.
- K4, C2f, C2b, K4
- K3, P6, K3
- K4, C2b, C2f, K4
- K3, P6, K3
Once you have cast off, sew the two ends of the headband together, weave in the ends, and wear or gift.
